Finished up my newest personal 1680. Phong case, Phong hands, Mochacha dial, Gen 1570. Picked up another 1570 a while ago and had not had the chance to tear. #1. I've been lurking around this forum for a while now and have learned so much from searching around. I ordered my first rep yesterday night 5/13, and I have already received my qc pics. I I think think they they are good for a starting point. I will be replacing to Crystal with a Clark's and I wanna do a crown and tube replacement. I'd like to start off with an inexpensive 1680 no-date whose case is pretty close to gen, then swap out the dial, hands, bezel, crown, maybe crystal. I already have a Swiss ETA. I've read that Puretime has the best "out of the box" 1680, and others say Cartel so I am open to your suggestions. Part interchangability may be the key here. been looking to pick up a few 1680's to play around with modifying, but it seems there has been delays and stock shortages from JK. Andrew at Trusty said the issue was that they are out of bracelets, but was able to get me just the watch heads.

The JKF 1680 is thinner and sits well on the wrist compared to the 1665. Also, the 1680 has better dial readability out-of-the-box than the 1665 becaused the 1665 has a domed plexi that creates distortion.
